Your magicka might regen slower but if you are going spellsword you don't need to solely rely on it. Just a warning though, not all of his builds work well in practice (I learned this the hard way trying to play his paladin).Ītronach Stone is pretty good, especially on a Breton because you can get temporary 100% Spell Absorb from their racial. If you want to find some builds, go look at Fudgemuppet on youtube. Spellswords I attempted typically used magic as an alternative to archery. Honestly, I'm not sure what purpose that would serve. Spellsword builds i've seen on youtube typically go with a one-handed weapon in one hand and a destruction spell in the other hand. You need health as always, but you need stamina for power attacks and carrying your own equipment, but also magicka to use spells.Īnd a spellsword in this game can't use a shield (you need a free hand to use magic). The problem seems to be that such a build requires all three atrributes, rather than just the typical two. The closest thing to a spellsword I managed to get to work was just a mage that wore heavy armor. I believe the issue was the fact that for such builds I was investing equally in health, magicka, and stamina, which meant that my stats weren't keeping up with the stat increases on the monsters. I've tried such a build in the past, but it always failed do to things getting too difficult to kill rather quickly (after level 5 I think).
